Ed Ho: Sticker Photographer.

Flickr launched their wonderful stats feature which displays information about search engine referrals to your photos. The top queries coming to my photos isn’t anything about my former employer or any of those silly web-two-dot-oh events. Instead it’s “guitar hero stickers”. Often it’s searches for “guitar hero 2 stickers”. Now this can happen for a variety of reasons, the main one being that most of my photos just get lost as more definitive depictions of “food” and “car” are returned by Google Image Search. Nevertheless, it still surprises me that people are even searching for pictures of the sticker sheet that came with a game that is a year old. It’s almost as surprising as finding out that I even had photos of that sticker sheet. Why on earth would I take pictures of stickers and post them online?

Seriously, my photos are the #1 & #2 results on Google Image Search for “guitar hero stickers”  ??

My current favorite Pipe

Created by one of our users, this Pipe creates a feed of your Flickr Contacts’ favorite photos. (Here, I’m viewing the output in Google Reader)
He’s posted it here in the Flickr Hacks Group. This is an excellent Pipe to look at for advanced users combining Split, For Each, Regex and Sub Pipes to create the end result. He also makes great use of the Prompt fields in the user inputs of the Sub Pipes to create a readable interface in the primary Pipe.
