iPhone freeze during sync

Update: As Roja points out in the comments. Holding the top button + the home button will fully reset a frozen phone. I usually try the home button first, then the top button, and finally both together.

About this iPhone freeze during sync. I’ve seen it manifest in 2 ways, the first case the iPhone will be locked up at the very end of the sync with perhaps a black screen. You then can try to hold the “Home” button for several seconds. That probably won’t work so you need to hold the button on the top for several seconds and turn it off and on.

In the second case, the iPhone will just reset itself in the middle of a sync. You don’t need to do anything as the iPhone will just reconnect itself after reboot. Once it’s done, just hit the sync button and it’ll continue where it left off.

    my iphone freezes at the beginning of the sync therefore i can never sync my iphone, i think this is a iTunes problem since my iphone will work with other computers

    Whenever I try to use the mail application the iphone will freeze. It will allow me to either view or delete two to three emails before this happens. The only way around it is to press the home button and wait several seconds before it returns. Then I begin the whole process again. Rebooting and restoring hasn’t helped the issue either. Is there a setting I should change?

    Stew: What kind of account are you trying to use it with? That’s an issue I’ve not seen before. Give it a try with a Yahoo or GMail account and let us know if it works.

    I had my iphone freeze when I placed the phone on the charger at the same time I was getting a call. I realized I had received the call when I realized that the phone didn’t make the sound one gets when placing the phone on the charger. I never heard the phone ring.

    yes, same problem here. and i got the solution. when your iphone freeze. just hold your home and off button at the same time for few seconds. when it’ll be off. Once again on it. and then you’ll see the apple logo. Then hold your home button again for several seconds. That’s it.
    Note: Iphone really suck

    my iphone is frozen with the same screen. it has a USB cord icon and a itunes icon on the screen u try restarting it but it just keeps apearing on the screen

    Juan782. It sounds like your iphone was disconnected while installing new software/firmware. Try to connect it to the computer and see what happens, it may just pick up from where it left off. If not I think you need to contact Apple.

    its been like that for about 5 hours now and its just stuck there. what do i do?? i just spent 80 dollars to unlock my iphone and this had to happen. it only took me 20 minutes to destroy my iphone!!

    My iphone was syncing but it was taking too long so i plugged it out without safely removing it from the computer. Now the itunes icon has frozen on the screen and also on the screen is the USB cord. There is also a keylock at the top of the itunes icon
