Priest
I forgot to mention that I now have 2 Level 60 characters in World of Warcraft. I’ve had the game for a year and although I rarely play now, I still find it to be really fun.

WordPress + Yahoo! Web Hosting

So following quickly behind the MoveableType announcement, Yahoo Web Hosting now has WordPress available as well.

These are really handy because it’s managed for you and Yahoo seems to be working closely with both SixApart and the WordPress teams to make sure the experience is good for hosting customers.

I’ve switched today to WordPress, and I’m almost going to promise that I’ll actually write more. So far WordPress just seems to be built really well. I really like the asynchronous saves, and spell checking. I’m hoping that add more cool javascriptishnes to it.

Yahoo! Answers

I really like Yahoo! Answers as a destination. Sure there’s lots of crap from lonely users or users who likely aren’t old enough to drive, but there are a lot of good questions as well.

Usually, I’m an answerer simply because it’s rewarding to answer someone elses question and to help them out. For example, I’m glad that I was able to help out the lady who had engine oil all over her spark plug wires. See “What causes my car to have recently spattered oil out of the part that has a twist cap that says motoroil?”

Other times I get my own questions answered… A couple days before Christmas, I discovered how much fun it is to play Need For Speed: Most Wanted on the Xbox 360. The high speed car chases are just great, it’s like Burnout Revenge but with cop cars. Well, I had the Xbox on for about 4 hours and I decided that I should turn upright so it could cool off and I didn’t think to turn it off first. This produced some really nice scratches all the way around my game disc which ended the fun for me.

Having seen the “DVD Repair” contraptions in electronic stores, I wondered if there was actually something that would be able to undo the damage. I turned to Yahoo Answers ( “Is there a way to fix light scratches on a cd?” ), and within a few minutes I had 8 answers to my question!! Off to Bestbuy I went with the new knowledge that I could buff off layers of plastic until the disc was repaired. Now NFS plays like new.

So if you are bored and looking for something new to play with on the ol’ intertron, just go to answers.yahoo.com. At the very least it’s entertaining.

Who knew they closed ski lifts during a snow thunderstorm? You just can’t escape from good fun being ruined by natural electrical discharges.
