E3

Apologies for the lack of posts from E3. I wanted to believe there was lots to see, but there really wasn’t. The best part of the trip were my meetings which I can’t really talk about.

I can tell you that the best yet to come. The next gen of consoles looks like it will deliver great hardware. It’s still too early to tell about the content though. There were plenty of high res vids to be shown, but not a single one was actual game play. I know they like to say it is but it’s really not.

Nintendo was so uninteresting for me I seem to have neglected to even stop by to see that Game Boy Mini.
Probably the highlight of the show for me was Unreal 2007 and Gears of War. Unreal Engine 3 is shaping up to be a mighty mighty engine. I’m happy to see that they are building it for the 360 as well as the PC.

Alright, tomorrow I’ll be at E3. I will be posting at the usual spots, but I decided I’ll also post here.

As usual, stuff here will be light on proper grammer and substance. I’ll try to put a lot of photos/video here since that’s all people like anyways.

DJ Krush at Mezzanine 4/29

You didn’t miss anything not seeing DJ Krush last Friday. If you were there, I feel your pain. I’m serious, he made our ears hurt with his so-called dj’ing.

Just to clarify, last Friday was the 3rd time I’ve seen him perform and generally like his music. What he played on Friday was inhuman, in that the frequencies generated by his machines were too high to be consumed by human ears. It was feedback with a beat and it hurt.

The evening was not a loss though due to the treat of a performance by DJ Relm (Mike Relm). His blend of genre-mashing turntablism combined with his well-edited accompanying videos were enough to make everyone get up and dance. It was irresistible, with something for everyone. Unlike Krush, Relm is not afraid to mix in a song that we liked when we were 12 to get everyone grooving. It’s entertainment and he excelled at it. If you haven’t seen him before, I highly recommend it. He’ll be at DNA Lounge tomorrow night (5/4/2005).

If you have the opportunity to catch DJ Krush on this tour, just skip it.

2 of favorite cars up for sale

The cars I remember most from my childhood were, KITT from Knight Rider, The General Lee, and the Testarossa from Miami Vice.

Well now it’s possible to get the first two. In L.A. on the 14th you’ll be able to bid on both the General Lee and KITT. Wonder if the General is street legal? Is it ok to drive a car with doors welded shut?
